Once again this month, the Firm’s professionals gathered for an in-depth technical update session on highly topical and complex tax issues.
On the agenda were two topics that closely affect many businesses:
- Registration tax and shareholder loans
A seemingly ‘routine’ issue that conceals pitfalls that should not be underestimated. We analysed the tax risks associated with the “recording” of shareholder loans in shareholders’ meeting minutes, in light of the constantly evolving case law of the Court of Cassation, and the practical solutions for managing this risk.
- Tax credit for taxes paid abroad
An issue of growing importance for businesses and individuals with cross-border income. We have examined the most recent judgements of the Court of Cassation and the lower courts, which are redefining the boundaries between domestic legislation on foreign tax credits and international double taxation treaties, offering significant refund opportunities for taxpayers who find themselves, or have found themselves, in situations of double taxation.
Our ongoing analysis of the latest regulatory and case-law developments enables us to transform tax complexity into tangible value for our clients.
